Fast Effective Fixings Maximise Off-Site Benefits


A major new hospital project is using Spit Tapcon concrete screws and Spit Pulsa 700E cordless nailers to get the maximum benefit from off-site construction methods. The £338 million PFI project for St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has seen the new St Helens Hospital completed and the new Whiston Hospital on schedule to be finished by 2010.

Concrete Anchors Show Their Strength At Trent Bridge


New balustrades at Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club's Trent Bridge ground are standing firm thanks to Spit LDT Large Diameter Tapcon anchors. JWC Fabrication Ltd., which made the balustrades, used the Spit product to fix them to concrete stairs in the new Bridgford Road stand and in the refurbishment of the existing stand. In total, over 300 anchors were used on the project.

Epcon C8 Delivers Extreme Performance


Spit has launched the chemical anchor Epcon C8 Extreme, an epoxy resin that has been specifically formulated for rebar and stud applications requiring a high load capacity. The new formulation resin is the first to achieve European Technical Approval for rebar applications.

Fastening System shows their strength on the market


The transformation of Bolton Market Hall into a modern shopping mall is highlighting the advantages of fast and simple fastening systems from Spit. Contractor Lorne Stewart has used the Spit Pulsa 700E cordless nailers to install all the temporary lighting on the project and is using the Spit Tapcon anchoring system to support all of the mechanical and electrical services.

Cordless nailer shows choir in a new light


When HSE Lighting and Electrical services was asked to install new lighting at a London church it turned to Spit to provide a quick and simple way of fixing cables to stone walls. By using the Spit Pulsa 700E cordless nailer and Prysmian FireFix cable fixings, HSE was able to complete the work in a week rather than the month it would have otherwise taken.
